As I begin my fourth month as a resident of Montgomery and CEO of Jackson Hospital, I feel both humbled and compelled to speak plainly about what is at stake. The future of one of Alabama’s most important community hospitals now rests largely in the hands of a single organization: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.
My wife, Paige, and I were immediately struck by Montgomery’s warmth and civic pride. From neighbors to small business owners to community leaders, people here care deeply about where they live and about Jackson Hospital. That support has been constant and sincere.
