Minister who molested boys gets 10 to 15 years in Michigan prison

ADRIAN — A Lenawee County minister who pleaded no contest in December to molesting three boys he met through his ministry received a sentence Friday morning of 10 to 15 years in prison Friday morning from a circuit judge.

The minimum sentence Judge Michael Olsaver gave Michael Goble, 77, of rural Adrian, exceeded by about four years the maximum Michigan sentencing guideline for his convictions for three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

But Judge Olsaver said the existence of other victims on whose behalf Goble had not been charged, plus the fact that case details met the criteria for first-degree criminal sexual conduct, punishable by 15 years in prison, justified the harsh penalty…
