Maryland State Police arrested a 23-year-old Washington, D.C., man following a traffic stop that led to a multi-vehicle crash on the Capital Beltway in Prince George’s County.
According to police, the incident occurred shortly before 5:30 pm on February 3, 2026, when a trooper from the College Park Barrack attempted to stop a dark gray Honda Insight on I-495 near Glenarden Parkway in Landover. Authorities said the driver fled as the vehicles pulled to the shoulder, reentered traffic lanes, and struck three other vehicles before stopping. The suspect then attempted to flee on foot and was taken into custody at the scene. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
