Pro Ski Jor brings the snow as local riders, skiers, and horses prepare for winter fun

NAMPA, Idaho (CBS2) — Saddle up for a wild ride as the Idaho Horse Park at the Ford Idaho Center transforms into a cowboy’s winter wonderland on Feb. 6 and 7 when Pro Ski Jor gallops into town, promising a weekend of high-speed winter fun.

Event organizer Brian Gardner described ski joring as “the most fun winter sport there is,” where a horse and rider pull a skier through a race course at high speeds. The skier navigates gates, jumps, and grabs rings, with the fastest time winning.

The two-day event will see about 250 teams, including local athletes and those traveling from event to event, competing across all divisions. Gardner said, “We have the little buckaroos for kids ten and under, a teen division, a novice division, and it goes all the way up to the pro level. We really accommodate all ages and ability levels.”…
