The Clark County School District (CCSD) announced a districtwide realignment of school start times, set to take effect beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. The changes are aimed at improving student learning, health and overall academic performance.
Under the new schedule, middle schools will begin at 7:30 a.m., high schools at 8:30 a.m. and elementary schools at 9:15 a.m.
“The new school start times better align with the sleep needs of high school students,” CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert said in a statement. “Research shows that later start times for high school students lead to more sleep, reduced anxiety and greater alertness, which in turn improve attendance, standardized test scores and graduation rates.”…
