Tempe Brunch Hotspot Reopens following Devastating Fire and $1.9M Restoration

U.S. Egg Brunch + Cocktails is reopening after a 15-month closure and a full rebuild from a devastating 2024 fire. The beloved family-owned brunch spot known for its original protein pancakes has officially reopened its Tempe location at 131 E. Baseline Road. The reopening marks a major milestone for the family-owned restaurants’ 40th anniversary.

The Tempe location was forced to close in October 2024 due to an after-hours fire from a water heater that spread to the roof, causing major fire and water damage. The $1.9 million complete rebuild involved five insurance companies throughout the restoration process that involved rebuilding the restaurant down to the studs. During the closure, all 36 Tempe employees were reassigned to the five other U.S. Egg Phoenix metro locations, ensuring no employee lost their job.

“We are incredibly grateful to open our doors again after such a long and emotional journey,” said George Gebran, chief operating officer of U.S. Egg. “We are a family restaurant through and through, and we employ many Phoenix families. Our staff consists of cousins, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, fathers, and mothers. We’re excited to welcome our team and our customers back to our original, refreshed, and rebuilt Tempe restaurant.”…
