Man dies after being rescued from burning DC apartment

WASHINGTON — A man died after his apartment caught fire early Friday morning. Firefighters say the man has life-threatening injuries.

According to a spokesperson for D.C. Fire and EMS, crews were called to the 100 block of Yuma Street Southeast just before 1 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they found one apartment on fire on the second floor of a three-story building.

The man was brought to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries after being rescued, but just after noon Friday, D.C. Fire said he died from his injuries…
