Augusta Charter committee faces looming deadline to have changes voted on in 2026

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – After nine months, the Charter Review Committee is preparing to say, “that’s a wrap.”

“I think we did an exceptional job of that. I think our season is over. It is time for the playoffs,” said committee member Clint Bryant.The committee has one issue to settle and that will be done at its meeting in two weeks.

Then the UGA School of Government will put the recommended changes in proper written form.The changes will need to be approved by state lawmakers and that’s where the committee is facing a deadline…
