The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees granted final approval Friday for a $15.4 million project that promises to renovate UAB’s Bartow Arena into one of the top venues in The American Conference. In addition, the board approved UAB’s athletics department to pursue naming rights opportunities for the arena.
The project is anticipated to break ground following the completion of UAB’s spring commencement ceremonies this year.
The renovation will feature a new entrance lobby with approximately 7,400 square feet of new space to enhance fan experience and allow ticketing activities to take place indoors. It will also provide a facelift to Bartow Arena’s exterior.
