Water main breaks impacting more than roads and homes

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The recent water main breaks in Buffalo are impacting more than roads and homes.

Students from three Buffalo Public Schools — PS Schools 79, 94 and 208 — were kept out of the classroom on Thursday due to Wednesday’s water main break at the intersection of Hertel Avenue and Military Road.

“It’s a very complicated procedure when this happens,” said Louis Petrucci, the chief operating officer for BPS and the commissioner of the City of Buffalo’s Department of Permit and Inspections Services. “Our goal is always to keep children in the classroom because we believe that that is the most effective.”…
