COLUMBUS — The Ohio Attorney General today approved the petition summary language submitted by Ohioans for Cannabis Choice for voters to say no to SB 56. Ohioans for Cannabis Choice will now begin collecting signatures to put the harmful law before voters in November.
“We are ready to hit the streets and begin collecting 250,000 valid signatures because we know voters will say no to SB 56 because it is government overreach. The people spoke in 2023 when they overwhelmingly voted to legalize cannabis, and we are going to allow them to speak once again this November by voting no on SB 56,” said Joseph (Joey) Ellwood, a petitioner and hemp farmer in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.
“All across Ohio, businesses and everyday people have reached out to us asking how they can get involved to stop SB 56 because they know it will shutter 6,000 small businesses and throw thousands of Ohioans out of work.
