Huntertown Town Council voices concerns with Indiana’s ‘Housing Matters’ bill

HUNTERTOWN, Ind. (WPTA) – The Huntertown Town Council is voicing concerns with Indiana House Bill 1001.

H.B. 1001, titled ‘Housing Matters’, is a bill focused on reducing local zoning restrictions and simplifying housing development.

An estimated 250 homes were constructed and purchased in Huntertown in 2025 – a number that is expected to increase by 8% this year. In addition, over 1,000 homes have been approved to be built in the town through the Secondary Plat process…
