(WHTM)– Is it possible to have county taxes rise more than 30% in two years without it being enough? One Dauphin County leader says yes.
Dauphin County didn’t raise property taxes for 19 years before raising them significantly in the last two years. However, that wasn’t enough to fully offset the costs that rose without a corresponding increase in revenue.
County Treasurer and former county commissioner Nick DiFrancesco said current county commissioners are working on a bond issue that will ultimately cost taxpayers more in the long term.
