Two police agencies are warning local residents to be on the lookout for callers pretending to be law enforcement.
Both the Michigan State Police and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office have received reports of callers pretending to be a police officer and asking for money.
In one scam, the caller identifies himself as “Sgt. Christopher Mullins” with the Michigan State Police, the agency said in a release on Friday, Feb. 6. He then says he has an arrest warrant and asks for gift cards. He will also text a false “warrant” for proof, police said…
