REAL ID required, access still limited in south central Pa.

ENOLA, Pa. — With REAL ID enforcement continuing to expand, access to getting one has not. Across Pennsylvania, there are just over a dozen REAL ID centers — and only two serve south-central Pennsylvania, located in Enola and Lancaster.

PennDOT originally planned to expand access after launching the centers, but seven years later, that expansion has not happened. As a result, some residents say complying with the federal requirement now means traveling farther than expected or struggling to find available appointments.
