Stockton businesses count losses after train derailment causes power outage

STOCKTON, Calif. — Work continued on Thursday, days after a train derailment in Stockton that triggered a massive power outage.

The outage happened around 8 a.m. Monday, three Union Pacific train cars derailed at the Union Pacific yard in Stockton, crashing into a transmission tower and damaging several others.

The derailment knocked out power to about 17,000 PG&E customers, forcing businesses, government offices, schools, and homes across Downtown and South Stockton to go without electricity…
