SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — 911 dispatch audio and information from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office piece together the final minutes before a deadly crash involving a stolen minivan on Erie Boulevard West on Feb. 3.
According to police, the incidents unfolded early Tuesday morning.
Timeline of events
2:26 a.m.
Syracuse Police spot a grey minivan believed to be stolen and radio dispatch, officers then confirm the vehicle was stolen.
2:27 a.m.
Police report that a minivan near Grand Avenue and Cadwell Street is attempting to elude a traffic stop. Just a minute later, officers say the minivan is pulling over.
2:29 a.m.
Officers then report that the grey minivan is fleeing from the traffic stop.
Seconds later, dispatchers notify the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, telling deputies that the vehicle is stolen and the driver has fled.
2:30 a.m.
Sheriff’s deputies say they see the minivan on Avery Avenue, just off of West Genesee Street, but never fully catch up to the stolen vehicle…
