JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Interim Third-Party Manager Ted Henifin continues to push for a rate increase, citing nearly $32 million in unpaid bills in his latest status report.
This week, Henifin released his quarterly status report for the last three months of 2025, where he again outlined the utility’s financial challenges, saying that a rate increase is needed to cover operating costs, pay debt service, and get caught up on “aging payables” which have gone unpaid due to a lack of revenue.
According to the report, “aging payables continue to be an issue” and that “local revenues have been unable to close the gap between expenses and income.”…
