The James Beard semifinalist chef and owner of Chicken’s Kitchen in Gretna has announced plans to expand into New Orleans’ Central Business District and close the original location.
But don’t panic if you live in Gretna, the restaurant’s second location, called The Coop, will remain open at 1030 Derbigny St.
Chicken’s Kitchen first shared on Instagram that it would be expanding into Orleans Parish, to a small strip mall at 1029 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.
Owner Marlon “Chicken” Chukumerije explained that the original Chicken’s Kitchen, at 629 Derbigny St. in Gretna, will close on April 10, and he plans to reopen in the CBD on May 1…
