Nebraska State Patrol opens new Troop A facility in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Nebraska State Patrol has opened a new facility in Omaha that offers training centers, an in-house gym, evidence rooms and high-tech equipment.

The new location gives troopers quicker access to I-680 and I-80 in the northern part of the metro area. Colonel Bryan Waugh said this puts the state patrol at a major advantage when it comes to patrolling the highways.

“We are in really good shape. We have got a few vacancies here in Troop A, but right now we are doing really well with the growth that we have seen across the greater Omaha-Metropolitan area,” Waugh said. “Our goal would be that if there is a person interested in a career with the Nebraska State Patrol and they see a facility like this, they are going to be encouraged and perhaps inspired to want to work here.”
