The City of Tulsa, in partnership with Housing Solutions and A Way Home for Tulsa (AWH4T), has closed two more homeless encampments, relocating 13 individuals as part of the Safe Move Tulsa initiative. Since the program began, 68 people and 26 pets have been moved into stable housing, working toward the phase one goal of 300, according to the City of Tulsa announcement.
The initiative provides support to individuals through YWCA Tulsa case managers, offering assistance to find long-term housing and access healthcare services. The recently closed encampments are at 96th & Riverside and 11th & Skelly Drive. Combined with the closure of Eagle’s Nest, all long-term encampments along this stretch of Riverside Drive have been decommissioned.
