Inmate dies while in MDC custody

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The man accused of trying to run over homeless people has died while in custody. The Metropolitan Detention Center said it appears he took his own life. Police said Josh Sandoval was drunk driving near Second St. and Arvada Ave. late last month when he drove on the sidewalk and tried to run over a group of people. Witnesses said Sandoval then got out of the vehicle with a knife and threatened to kill the group.
