In spite of concerns about traffic and approved developments that have yet to be built, a Nampa development project is advancing to the next stage.
A proposal for the Highline Estates Subdivision could bring 355 homes and a commercial area to about 94 acres northeast of the intersection of Linden Rd. and Madison Rd., along with a small section of the land that reaches Franklin Rd. to the east. The Nampa Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the project after hearing comments from Nampa residents and the property’s owner and farmer. The proposal, which includes the annexation, zoning, and preliminary layout of the subdivision, will now go before the Nampa City Council for consideration.
People who testified at the hearing expressed concern about existing traffic congestion in the area, even before the full buildout of other approved subdivisions.
