The long-planned Center Street Bridge seismic retrofitting project will be put out for construction companies to bid on April 30 and is scheduled to begin in the summer, Oregon Department Of Transportation Area Manager Anna Henson said.
The first phase of the long-planned project to fortify the bridge over the Willamette River in Salem is moving forward despite concerns from state lawmakers and ODOT’s funding shortfalls.
“We’re moving forward,” Henson said after the Mid-Willamette Valley area Commission on Transportation meeting on Feb. 5. “We’re submitting our package to our project controls office on Feb. 13 and we’re moving forward until someone tells us not to.”…
