DUI arrest made after drone tracks reported vehicle to Sun Valley home

SUN VALLEY, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) used a drone to arrest a driver allegedly driving under the influence in Sun Valley on Thursday night.

While monitoring live 911 data through RapidSOS, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office DFR (Drone as First Responder) pilots deployed an unmanned aerial vehicle in response to a report of a vehicle failing to maintain its travel lane on Sun Valley Boulevard on Feb. 5.

Authorities say DFR pilots canvassed the area where the vehicle was reported and located it traveling on Leon Drive, where it ultimately stopped in front of a residence in the 6000 block.
