The incident began around 2 a.m. on Feb. 5, when a Charles County deputy was flagged down near Ell Lane and Route 5 in Waldorf, officials said. The owner reported that his 2015 Kenworth truck tractor — without the trailer — had been stolen and was actively being tracked using a GPS device.
Officers located the stolen cab traveling southbound on Route 5 near Leonardtown Road and Bryantown Road and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, according to the sheriff’s office.
