PPL Electric Utilities shares extreme cold safety tips ahead of frigid weekend

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The lingering cold conditions are expected to dip once again this weekend. Wind chills into the negatives, as well as wind gusts of 50-plus mph early Saturday morning are expected in areas throughout PPL Electric Utilities’ territory.

With colder temperatures expected to increase electricity demand, PPL Electric Utilities is offering safety tips to help customers prepare for the weekend ahead, according to a press release from PPL.

Prepare an emergency kit, including non-perishable food, water, medication, first aid supplies and any pet supplies you may need. Be sure to include batteries and battery-operated flashlights. Store your emergency kit in one location, preferably in an airtight container. Charge your phones and other devices when able…
