Mayor Scott limits Baltimore OIG access to protected records under confidentiality law

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Mayor Brandon Scott’s office announced significant changes to its information-sharing practices with the Baltimore City Office of Inspector General (OIG) to comply with state law.

This decision follows an official opinion from the Maryland Attorney General’s Office, received by Baltimore City Solicitor Ebony M. Thompson on Feb. 5, 2026.
