Residents of North Canton were shaken by a shooting incident yesterday afternoon in the 300 block of Rose Lane St. SE. Cleveland 19 reports that local police responded to the scene just after 4 p.m. following calls about a “popping sound” and a vehicle that ended up in a front yard. Witnesses saw two people running from the area, while another person was seen asking for help.
According to a Canton Repository release, the first detective arriving at the scene at 4:06 p.m. encountered two suspects fleeing towards Mississippi Street SE, while applying a tourniquet to the victim’s right leg, who suffered a “through-and-through” gunshot injury. With a limp, the victim was conscious and reported being robbed.
The suspects are described as two young males seen getting into a gold-colored Honda or Toyota by a witness and fleeing south on South Main Street. The North Canton Police Department, as stated by WKYC, has asked for the public’s assistance.
