United Way Presents 2025 Impact Awards

Three community members received 2025 Impact Awards from the United Way of Chautauqua County. The awards, which were presented during UWCHQ’s recent Campaign Celebration in Jamestown, are given to people who have been impacted in some way by the United Way or its partner network and who are now making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. This year’s recipients are Jacob Thierfeldt, Ron Chwojdak and Melissa Chwojdak.

That awareness led him to take action through volunteering with United Way partner agencies, giving as a donor, and using his voice to encourage others to get involved.

Ron and Melissa Chwojdak were honored for their extraordinary dedication to community service through the American Red Cross and beyond. Together, they have given countless hours leading CPR trainings, responding to local emergencies, supporting disaster relief efforts outside the county, coordinating blood drives, assisting with smoke alarm installations, and volunteering at the Fred Basket Food Pantry in Fredonia. Their work reflects not only a commitment to responding in times of crisis, but also to strengthening communities through preparedness, prevention, and care…
