The Bonnet Springs Caribbean Carnival is one of the year’s best cultural celebrations

Get ready for a taste of island time. The 3rd Annual Caribbean Carnival is taking place on Saturday, February 21, from 3-9 pm at the beautiful Bonnet Springs Park in Lakeland. This yearly celebration has become a favorite of the That’s So Tampa team, and is one the year’s best free cultural events.

The sprawling celebration of Caribbean culture is a showcase of island vibes and experiences, including a headline performance by Grammy Award-winning reggae band Kabaka Pyramid & The Bebble Rockers, authentic Caribbean food trucks and restaurants, a makers market, kids activities, a parade, and even live steel drum performances.

The family-friendly event is completely free to attend and open to all ages. After a smashing success in 2024 and 2025, the 2026 rendition is slated to be the best one yet. Between the music, the food, the craftsmanship, and the performances and traditions from all over the islands, this is truly one of the most authentic cultural experiences anywhere in the region.

One of the big highlights is the Bahamian Junkanoo Parade. The high-energy performance, with elaborate costumes and a powerful sound produced by traditional instruments, will parade through the Caribbean Carnival crowd and is sure to get the whole family dancing…
