Eighteen years ago, a devastating tornado outbreak swept across the South, leaving a significant impact on Middle Tennessee.
On Feb. 5-6, 2008, 14 tornadoes touched down in the Mid-State, with the strongest being an EF3 that tore through Sumner, Trousdale and Macon counties before continuing into southern Kentucky.
This powerful tornado was on the ground for more than 50 miles and stretched nearly 900 yards wide. It injured 63 people and claimed the lives of 22, marking it as the deadliest single tornado in Middle Tennessee in nearly 75 years…
