Project Love Spreads Valentine’s Joy to Seniors

Project Love is an annual community outreach campaign led by Assisted Home Health & Hospice that brings encouragement, connection and joy to seniors through heartfelt messages created by local students. Each year, Assisted partners with schools and senior living communities to deliver handmade Valentine’s Day cards and notes, reminding seniors they are valued, seen and loved.

“Many of these seniors are limited in their ability to celebrate holidays as they once did,” said Natallie Uribe, a hospice care specialist at Assisted Home Health & Hospice in Ventura. “We saw an opportunity to bridge the generational gap by having local kids in our community handcraft valentines for seniors in assisted living communities. Receiving handmade valentines brings inclusion into their lives and spreads love throughout the community.

“The kids involved in the program also experience a sense of joy and accomplishment by spreading kindness to our senior community,” Uribe added. “The program aligns perfectly with Assisted Home Health & Hospice’s motto: ‘Hands to Help, Hearts to Care.’”…
