A Monroe, Michigan woman faces retail fraud and methamphetamine possession charges following an incident at a local CVS Pharmacy, where she was apprehended with over $500 worth of stolen merchandise as well as drug paraphernalia. CBS News Detroit reports that the arrest occurred on Tuesday morning after a CVS employee alerted the Monroe Police Department of the ongoing theft.
Upon arrival, officers located the 41-year-old suspect inside the store and her juvenile daughter waiting in a car parked outside; during this time the police also discovered additional methamphetamine, a meth pipe, and multiple bags of suspected stolen goods from other stores according to Monroe News. The woman’s daughter was promptly released to the custody of family members amidst the unfolding of these unsettling events.
The case has since been forwarded to the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office for further review, although additional charges could be pending as the investigation continues to unravel the full scope of the alleged crimes, specifically the implications it holds on the welfare of the juvenile involved…
