Power outages reported across the Triad amid high winds

NORTH CAROLINA, USA — UPDATE: Winston-Salem police say the 3400 block of Ebert Road is shut down due to power lines across the road. Drivers are encouraged to use Heathrow Dr. to get around the closure.

High winds across the Triad on Tuesday brought down trees and caused power outages, prompting increased calls to emergency services in several areas.

Duke Energy outage maps as of 10 a.m. showed dozens of outages throughout Greensboro, with about 70 reported in the Westerwood neighborhood. In Forsyth County, the map showed more than 1,000 outages, concentrated along Ebert Road from Heathrow Drive to Bromley Park Drive…
