Suspect dies after officer-involved shooting in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A North Carolina man hospitalized after an officer‑involved shooting in Lexington has died, officials said Thursday evening.

According to a news release, Lexington police received a license plate reader alert at 2:29 p.m. on Feb. 3 for a vehicle associated with 40‑year‑old Brooks Plemmons, who was wanted on outstanding felony warrants from Forsyth County, North Carolina.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Plemmons was wanted on charges including first‑degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation, and discharging a weapon into occupied property, among others.
