A Guthrie woman is in recovery after a harrowing encounter this past Wednesday which resulted in multiple gunshot wounds, leading to a high-speed police pursuit, and the subsequent arrest of 24-year-old Michael Adeniran. In a scene reminiscent of a high-stakes action film, authorities managed to halt Adeniran’s flight on Interstate 35 after he reportedly hit speeds over 110 mph in a black SUV, as reported by KOCO 5.
Details emerge that the victim was simply eating lunch in her vehicle before her work shift when Adeniran, with whom she had a brief prior relationship, opened fire on her, according to KOCO 5. Guthrie Police Department Sgt. Anthony Gibbs firmly conveyed the department’s determination in a statement obtained by KOCO 5, “We’re not going to stop pursuing, We will get you.” This incident is alleged to have stemmed from an earlier stalking behavior by Adeniran.
