Man arrested after leading police chase in southwest Iowa

SHELBY COUNTY, Iowa — A southwest Iowa man has been arrested after authorities say he led a lengthy police chase Friday evening.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says authorities attempted to conduct a traffic stop around 9:30 p.m. Friday along Highway 59, near County Road F-32, on a vehicle traveling over 80mph in a 55mph zone.

The driver began attempting to evade law enforcement and continued heading south on Highway 59, leading the chase through Avoca, Hancock, and Oakland before heading west on Highway 6 into Council Bluffs, the sheriff’s office said…
