The New Orleans City Council’s Governmental Affairs Committee has approved Steve Nelson as the new Director of the Department of Public Works. Nelson, previously Deputy CAO for Infrastructure, will lead the department amid ongoing city infrastructure projects.
According to the Mayor’s Office release, Nelson oversees the “Lights On” initiative to repair broken streetlights and chairs the Infrastructure Coordination Council, which coordinates scheduling between DPW and utility companies.
