French Meadow Bakery and Café, founded in the Twin Cities 40 years ago, has announced that a big change took place last fall.
Marlene Leiva took ownership of the Minneapolis restaurant on Lyndale Avenue back in September, the restaurant announced in a press release.
However, representatives tell Bring Me The News that founder Lynn Gordon still owns French Meadow’s St. Paul restaurant and its hub at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Gordon had purchased the adjacent CC Club in 2013, but sold her stake in 2021.
“Stepping into ownership of a business with such deep roots is both an honor and a responsibility,” Leiva says. “Preserving Lynn Gordon’s legacy while navigating today’s economic realities has been challenging, especially as recent disruptions have affected foot traffic, staffing, and operations.”…
