Ash Grove School District is in search of their next high school principal following last week’s announcement of the retirement of longtime educator Chris Thompson.
Thompson submitted his retirement announcement to the Ash Grove Board of Education prior to the body’s Jan. 28 meeting. Thompson will serve to the end of the school year, with his last day being June 30; completing 31 years on the job.
Thompson, an Ash Grove High School alumnus, began as an elementary teacher in the district in 1995. In 2003, he was named the principal of Bois D’Arc Elementary. In 2007, he took over high school principal duties, and has remained steadfastly in that capacity for 19 years…
