The middle school teacher who resigned from the West Ada School District rather than remove an “Everyone is Welcome Here” banner from her classroom last year has filed a federal lawsuit against the state and her former employer.
Attorney General Raúl Labrador, the Idaho State Board of Education and Idaho State Department of Education, the West Ada School District, its superintendent Derek Bub and Lewis & Clark Middle School principal Monty Hyde are named in the 43-page document, filed Feb. 3 in the Idaho District Court, as defendants.
