SARASOTA, Fla. — A new study out of Mote Marine Laboratory suggests a small electronic device could help solve a frustrating problem for anglers: sharks stealing fish before they reach the boat.
Scientists at the Sarasota-based research facility recently published findings on an electronic pulse deterrent that attaches to fishing gear and is intended to keep sharks away from hooked fish.
