FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Friday, a group of students at South Side High School made their way through the cold and snow to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Students walked to the corner of Calhoun Street and Rudisill Boulevard – a block away from the school – with signs rebuking ICE’s actions. The protest follows national headlines about the immigration crackdown, which has namely led to the fatal shootings of Renee Good by an ICE agent and Alex Pretti by a Border Patrol agent in Minnesota.
Locally, FWCS shared a letter to district families last week shutting down a rumor that ICE was planning to have a local presence.
