OXFORD, Miss. (WJTV) – A Memphis man was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison after a high-speed chase into Mississippi.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Sharka Corbin was also sentenced to three years of supervised release. This comes after he pled guilty to possessing a firearm as a prior convicted felon.

At the time of his arrest, prosecutors said the 34-year-old was wanted for several violent offenses in Shelby County, Tennessee. He was pursued by law enforcement in a high-speed chase wherein he wrecked his vehicle and was arrested.
Prosecutors said a pistol was recovered from the prior convicted felon by the Desoto County Sheriff’s Department. Corbin pled guilty to the charge on a prior date.
