From shelter to Puppy Bowl: Dog born at Syracuse rescue hits the big leagues

NORTH SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)— A rescue dog from Central New York is set to make an appearance in the Puppy Bowl this Sunday, and her journey started with a surprise no one saw coming.

The story of Jessie, known as Cinnamon before she was adopted, began at Helping Hounds Dog Rescue in Syracuse. At the time, no one realized Jessie’s mom, Pepper, was pregnant when she arrived at the shelter. That changed quickly.
