Oklahoma City Zoo opening Dinosaur Expedition with 60 animatronic dinosaurs

OKLAHOMA CITY – On March 6, the Oklahoma City Zoo will open a new limited-time exhibit designed to transport visitors back to the age of dinosaurs.

The exhibit, called Dinosaur Expedition, will feature 60 animatronic dinosaurs, interactive paths, educational displays and special attractions aimed at families and visitors of all ages. The experience will be open through November.

Ahead of the opening, Candace Reynolds, a spokesperson for the Oklahoma City Zoo, shared what guests can expect and why the exhibit ties directly into the zoo’s mission.

What is the Dinosaur Expedition?

Reynolds: “We are very excited at the Oklahoma City Zoo because roaring very soon, Dinosaur Expedition presented by Mathis Home. So we have 60 animatronic dinosaurs that are going to be in the zoo. This will be a really, really unique and fun, new, immersive experience. exhibit and experience for our guest. But you’ll be able to walk through a path and really walk back in time to when dinosaurs were roaming the earth. So we’ve got all the favorites. We’ve got from, you know, the huge dinosaurs down to the little ones and lots of fun educational signage that comes with that. And then we’re bringing in some special rides. So for all the kiddos, so we’ll have some dinosaur themed rides. It’ll be part of a dinosaur expedition and some other special things that are happening. So don’t want to give it all away.”…
