It has transoms and a trio of two-over-four full-length double-hung windows, elements common to the Eastlake style, yet the galleried porch on which he keeps his treasured bee hives is supported by single turned-and-fluted Doric columns and stepped mullions, suggesting the Neoclassical Revival style.

The house, with an exterior featuring a labor-intensive, five-color paint job, is indefinable.
