Wichita State softball falls short against Mississippi State in opener

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita State University softball fell short in its season opener against Mississippi State on Friday afternoon.

Despite pushing the game to extra innings, the Shockers could not hold off the Bulldogs, losing 5-2 in their first game of the Getterman Classic.

The Shockers took a 1–0 lead in the fourth inning when sophomore Gabby Scott scored off of freshman Kammie Smith’s single to right field.
