Fireworks crackdown continues with drone video evidence

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Property owners who allowed aerial fireworks to be launched from their homes on New Year’s Eve will receive warning letters from the state attorney general, even if they weren’t there.

State law enforcement used drones to identify properties that hosted fireworks parties, confirmed ownership through public records, and will send letters notifying them that they are on notice for future violations.

“Whether you were there or not, if it continues, you will be held responsible for the actions of your property,” said state director of law enforcement Mike Lambert.
